Business School

Sumit Ahuja,

India

Sumit Ahuja, an Indian Masters in Finance (Investment and Securities) student, who graduated in 2010, has used the truly international nature of LSBF to get ahead in the world of international finance, as an Equity Derivatives Analyst for Citi Group. Sumit came to LSBF having already achieved an MBA for the Indian Institute of Planning and Management, and with business experience. He found that studying in the truly multicultural environment provided by LSBF, in the financial hub that is London, gave him the perfect combination of product and people knowledge to succeed in his chosen career. “The programme was designed with a global approach and focused on finance in an international environment. I chose LSBF because it offered the exact modules and topics I was interested in, the tutors were experienced in their fields and came from diverse international backgrounds, just like the students. “I apply the skills I learned at LSBF on a daily basis. They equipped me to function in a global/international environment, collaborating with international teams, and developing relationships with team members and clients across the board.” What is your advice for new students? Make sure that you are applying for a specific role and tailor your CV for that position. Fully research the company – your CV will only be looked at once so it must make an impact. Prepare thoroughly for your interview, bringing in examples from your studies and past experience.
