London, 23 September 2019 – London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) held a graduation ceremony in London for its distance learning students on Friday 20 September.

The ceremony was held at the Church of St Andrews in Holborn, just a short walk from LSBF’s London campus. Students from 25 countries attended the event, where they celebrated their academic accomplishments with family, friends, and the tutors who accompanied them throughout their learning journey.

LSBF Graduation (6)Each graduate successfully completed one of LSBF’s online programmes, which includes the Global MBA, MA in Finance & Investment, Dual MA & MSc in Finance & Investment, Dual MA & MSc in Strategic Marketing, and MA in Strategic Marketing.

Academic Lead at LSBF Christopher Jasko recognised the students’ academic achievements in his welcome speech.

“Online studies can be challenging, and you have risen to the challenge. The online learning environment requires initiative and resourcefulness, and you have shown to possess these qualities,” Jasko said in his address.

“The quality of your work is without question, and you will walk away from today’s ceremony with confirmation of your success in your hands. You have excelled, learned and developed. You earned the right to sit here today. Take confidence in that, and know that any challenges you now face are ones you can handle.”

London School of Business and Finance has always been committed to making education more accessible, and breaking barriers created by different cultural and social environments. The 2019 graduation brought together students ranging in age from 23 to 57 years old, who came from countries including Slovakia, India, South Africa, Morocco, Italy, Brazil, and Malaysia among others.

The day before the ceremony, graduates had the opportunity to meet one another and share their experiences with online learning. The evening events began with an opening speech delivered by Programme Leader at LSBF, Dr Shahnaz Hamid. Graduates attended a networking event where they had the chance to develop lasting connections for the future.

“Holding a graduation event for online students might seem unusual, but it is part of LSBF’s innovative approach to online learning,” Dr Nawtej Dosanjh, Global Dean of LSBF said.

“Our tutors and staff have been close to these students since the start and we wanted to bring all of them together to show how e-learning can truly reach beyond boundaries as well as create meaningful connections within the study experience.”
