LSBF Careers Services announce new series of events and workshops

As the new academic year starts, LSBF students will benefit from a wide range of career events and workshops organised by the School’s Careers & Employability team. From company visits to guest lectures, the events aim to provide students with opportunities to develop new skills, improve their career prospects, and gain a better understanding of the job market and their chosen career fields.

From October to December, fourteen different events will be taking place, ranging from workshops on financial trading and a tour of the London Bloomberg offices to guest speakers on fashion and a one-day conference with publishing group Hachette UK.

Thanks to LSBF’s partnership with the Bloomberg Institute, there was also the opportunity earlier this month for those with an interest in finance to take the Bloomberg Assessment Test (BAT) for free, which assesses how well an individual is suited to the sector and provides a score to demonstrate that they are a strong job candidate. It is a comprehensive three-hour online test which measures the students’ knowledge in a range of relevant financial topics, as well as their natural aptitude, career skills, and verbal skills.

Nadim Choudhury, Head of Careers Services, said: “We pride ourselves on providing a diverse range of activities for our students. They are an example of our dedication to giving LSBF students the best chance at succeeding in their chosen career. The careers team work hard all year round to provide excellent guidance and support, and arranging events like these to help students develop their skills is a big part of that.”

A wide range of speakers have been invited to share their knowledge with LSBF students, including Diederik Schmull, an independent investment consultant with experience at companies like Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse; Don Leslie, who’s going to speak about careers in consultancy and commercial awareness, and Juan Carlos Quintana, a couture designer with brands throughout Europe and the USA.

LSBF’s Careers Services are dedicated to helping students grow their potential both personally and professionally. Working closely with leading businesses across several industries, the team provides students with first-rate advice and information, as well as one-to-one coaching and individual action plans for progressing their career.
