LSBF launches new charity to improve access to education for children in Africa

In a further step to support communities and increase access to education, London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) has established the new charitable foundation LSBF HOPE (Health, Opportunity, Potential, and Education) to give young people from underprivileged backgrounds the chance to achieve their dreams and career goals.

Working alongside Finca, a charitable microfinance body which provides poverty solutions through small business loans, LSBF HOPE’s first goal is to raise money to help build an education centre for underprivileged youngsters in North Africa.

Launching the fundraising campaign, LSBF staff and students, in conjunction with Liverpool Football Club, has organised a football tournament for students, who will have the chance to play the final match at Anfield, the world famous stadium, home for Liverpool Football Club. To join, participants are encouraged to give a donation to the charity, which will benefit from the fully amount rose with the sales of tickets and applications.

The tournament is open for students from all LSBF UK campuses. In exchange to their donation, participants will have the chance to experience a day in the life of a footballer, from getting ready in the players' changing rooms to playing in one of the most important stadiums in the UK.

Social Responsibility

As an international and socially responsible business school, with campuses around the UK and internationally in Singapore and Canada, LSBF believes that young people and future business leaders should have access to high quality education and training despite financial background. Last year, LSBF awarded over £2 million in scholarships to help young people realise their educational aspirations.

The qualifying matches were held across London, Birmingham and Manchester

Earlier this year, in response to the growing need for education and employment opportunities for young people, the school launched a competition to find Manchester's and Birmingham's Young Entrepreneurs of the Year 2012 to help young leaders or entrepreneurs get their first foot on the business education ladder. The winners were awarded a full scholarship for an Undergraduate Plus qualification at LSBF's Manchester and Birmingham campuses.
