Grenoble Graduate School of Business (GGSB) has launched a newMSc in Fashion, Design and Luxury Management to be delivered at London School of Business & Finance's London campus and at GGSB's campus in Grenoble from September 2012.
This two-year programme gives fashion and creative professionals the business acumen to develop and promote their career and to make the most of their talents. In addition, the programme will prepare professionals from other backgrounds for work in the creative industries.
As well as the benefits of studying in London, the world's fashion and financial capital, students will also undertake study trips to Italy and France.
"The Luxury sector is one of the fastest growing industries worldwide and, every day more and more companies seek professionals with specific management expertise."
To strengthen practical knowledge and hands-on work experience, students on the new Msc in Fashion, Design and Luxury Management will also have the chance to undertake a three month company-based learning programme either in the form of a work placement or a full-time paid internship.
Career-tailored courses
The diversification and introduction of new programmes are in line with LSBF's ethos to provide specialised degrees to professionals and the business knowledge necessary to further develop their careers worldwide. The specialist courses give students the opportunity to acquire industry relevant skills and specific understanding of tools needed to build and maintain a luxury brand.
LSBF's Vice-Rector James Kirkbride said: "Traditionally, the fashion market is based on individual creativity, but graduates with a full understanding of the business side of the industry have definitely better opportunities to achieve success. The Luxury sector is one of the fastest growing industries worldwide and, every day more and more companies seek professionals with specific management expertise. In partnership with GGSB and our links within the industry, we aim to give students insights into the fashion market and a deep knowledge of how each stage of the business works."
Judith Bouvard, Dean of GGSB, said: "The Fashion industry is one of the most important sectors in terms of investment, revenue, trade and employment. The Luxury sector is also currently one of the biggest growth industries with a projected 8% growth for this year (Bain) and does not appear to be suffering from the current financial crisis. These sectors do require specific management expertise with more and more luxury companies seeking to recruit experts able to manage and grow their brands in fashion and design. This Master's program provides a unique opportunity to acquire this expertise and to build a career in this fast growing and exciting sector."
Longstanding partnership
LSBF has a longstanding partnership with GGSB, having started in 2006 with the introduction of the MBA and MIB programmes. GGSB is a triple accredited institution, an honour shared by less than 1% of world's elite business schools which are accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business (AACSB) accreditations.
Alongside the MSc in Fashion, Design and Luxury Management and MBA, LSBF also delivers GGSB's BIB, as well as the MSc in Finance, which has been ranked 6th best pre-experience Masters in Finance programme worldwide by the Financial Times in 2011, and the Masters in International Business (MIB), ranked the 9th best worldwide by the same newspaper.
