An organisation dedicated to advancing women in business is preparing to hold its annual technology awards ceremony in London later this month.
everywoman, a globally recognised organisation which drives the development of women across all business sectors, will be honouring women’s contributions to the technology sector at its FDM everywoman in Technology Awards.
Founded in 1999, entrepreneurs Karen Gill MBE and Maxine Benson MBE wanted to create an online platform that would help women in business – and their careers – to excel. The venture succeeded, and everywoman subsequently formed corporate partnerships with the likes of NatWest, EDF, Asda, Nationwide and Vodafone.
The FDM everywoman in Technology Awards honour those who are making strong contributions towards the transformation of the technology industry. The ceremony recognises the achievements of female entrepreneurs and business leaders, providing them with means to showcase all they have achieved.
everywoman launched their technology awards several years ago in order to address the industry challenge of attracting female talent. The idea was to bring a variety of worthy role models into the limelight, showing other women and girls what they can aspire to achieve.
Last year’s winners included Dr Sue Black, the founder and CEO of Savvify, and Alicia Navarro, the CEO and co-founder of Skimlinks.
The everywoman Forum is an event which informs and inspires women hoping to become leaders in the technological world. The eight-hour schedule includes masterclasses, panel discussions, motivational speeches, and opportunities to network.
The forum has received praise from Prime Minister David Cameron, who declared the Forum a ‘splendid opportunity to celebrate and learn from female role models in the IT sector’.
This year’s ceremony will take place on 17 March at the London Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, along with the everywoman Forum 2015: Advancing Women in Technology, which will run throughout the morning and afternoon, prior to the awards ceremony.
