A new survey from property letting agent City Breaks has revealed what attracts Brits to entrepreneurship.

Younger workers were found to be most drawn to self-employment because of the flexible hours that it offers, with 85 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds citing this reason.
Flexible hours are also popular with business owners in Scotland, with 89 per cent of respondents believing that it is the top perk of owning a business.
Many British business owners were found to be drawn to being self-employed because it offers them a position of authority, whilst 40 per cent said that owning their own business enables them to have the last word.

Business owners were also found to be attracted to self-employment because it enabled them to put their team together, cited by 25 per cent, whilst others believe that salary is the top perk, cited by 18 per cent of London-based business owners and 16 per cent of business owners overall. Just 8.7 per cent of respondents said that business travel was the main benefit.
