A new enterprise centre is to open in Peckham to provide support and space for young entrepreneurs.
The Peckham Enterprise Centre, which has been set up by the London Youth Support Trust, will be located in the former Bell’s Garden Community Centre on Buller Close.
Support
The London Youth Support Trust aims to help businesses that are in the early stages to find affordable workspace, as well as providing support for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to build up their businesses.
The trust was first established in 2000 and has helped over 1,000 entrepreneurs. It is hoped that the Peckham Enterprise Centre will enable it to continue providing support to even more young entrepreneurs.
Community
The centre will offer a range of units, and is scheduled to be opened on Friday 1st April by Councillor Peter John.
Centre manager Adenike Malcolm said that there is a “real sense of community” within the centre.
She added: “As our clients are all young entrepreneurs, experiencing some of the same challenges that come with starting a business. They develop by learning from each other. They can also collaborate, network, and share contacts.”
