Study reveals which companies offer the best work-life balance

Study reveals which companies offer the best work-life balance

The companies offering the best work-life balance have been revealed in a new study from jobs website Glassdoor.

Banks, supermarkets, department stores and oil companies were amongst the list of top 20 companies featured in the study.

Balance

The study showed that companies from a wide range of industries, including finance, tech and recruitment, are offering a good balance between work and home life.

Financial recruitment company Goodman Masson was named as the top company for offering the best work-life balance, followed by tech company Cisco Systems at number two, insurer HomeServe at number three, LOLA Staffing at number four and Screwfix at number five.

Also featured on the list were a number of well-known companies such as John Lewis, Waitrose, Lloyds Banking Group and Apple, which came in at number 17, 18, 19 and 20 respectively.

The study comes after recent news showed that a number of companies are failing to offer good working conditions for their employees.

Tough

Diarmuid Russell, of Glassdoor, said: “Maintaining a healthy work-life balance can be tough in today's environment, with ever-increasing demands on our time.”

Commenting on the study, he stated: “As millions of employees head back to work after the Bank Holiday, our report shows there are companies that offer a good balance between their home and work life.”

He added that there are representatives on the list from numerous industries, such as tech, recruitment, manufacturing, finance and retail, which is promising for job seekers.
