Developers of Cobalt Business Park have announced that it has almost reached its full capacity. Cobalt Business Park is now one of the biggest in the UK, providing space for companies such as Accenture, Hewlett Packard and DNV.
All three firms have expanded, with Accenture now occupying 88,000 sq ft of space over two buildings, Hewlett Packard 200,000 sq ft of space over three buildings, and DNV 10,000 sq ft of space.
Developer Highbridge has now announced that there are three more deals to be completed over the next few weeks, which will bring the business park to 90 per cent full.
Solid progress
Highbridge Director Adrian Hill commented on the success of the park, stating that it has been another year of “solid progress.”
He added that the company is delighted that key occupiers such as Accenture and Hewlett Packard have each acquired more office accommodation on two occasions over the course of the last 12 months.
“In particular we recognise the value of our close working relationship with North Tyneside Council, who are headquartered at Cobalt, and the support we have had to enable us to attract such major new occupiers as Accenture and Utilitywise over the last three years. Indeed in that period we have let 300,000 sq ft of office space and created 3,000 jobs,” he said.
Great news
North Tyneside elected mayor Norma Redfearn described Cobalt’s expansion as “great news”, adding that it is now 90 per cent occupied with the creation of more jobs in North Tyneside.
She stated that Cobalt alone now employs 14,000 people, which she described as a “fantastic achievement.”
