Workplace relationships have a positive impact on accountants

Research from CV-Library has revealed how workplace relationships affect those working in an accountancy role.

The research surveyed 1,200 professionals and found 77 per cent of accountants believe their workplace relationships have had a positive impact on their personal life.

Important

More than 50 per cent of accounting professionals believe it is important to have a good relationship with colleagues as they can receive help with heavy workloads. 42 per cent said that being friendly with a colleague is beneficial when it comes to teamwork.

Having good workplace relationships can also help to motivate accounting professionals, with more than 40 per cent believing that colleagues can help to make work more fun. 41 per cent say their colleagues are a source of inspiration.

More than 60 per cent of respondents working in an accountancy role also consider their work colleagues to be their friends.

Beneficial

Commenting on the study, CV-Library Founder and Managing Director Lee Biggins said: “We spend a lot of time at work, and as such, a friendly working environment is important. As an employer, it’s vital you create a good company culture and this should sit at the top of your priority list.”

He added that doing this is beneficial for both employees and businesses and can have various positive effects on the workplace, such as increasing productivity and ensuring staff members work well as a team.
