The ICAEW is to launch a new initiative that will provide chartered accountants with the opportunity to become personal finance directors.
The initiative will consist of an online community that will offer access to all areas of financial planning to help chartered accountants boost their knowledge and place them in a position where they are able to offer financial support to SME owners and managers.
Access
Set to launch on 13th December 2017, the Personal Financial Planning (PFP) Community and Lifetime Wealth Planning Guide will help chartered accountants to bring personal finance into their field of knowledge, enabling them to become personal finance directors to business owners, managers and their families.
Members of the ICAEW will have free access to a wide variety of content on personal financial planning, including information on regulation, pensions, investments, tax and estate planning, probate and practice development.
The ICAEW will also be holding a launch event, which will include a series of talks from industry experts and will take place at the ICAEW, Chartered Accountants' Hall, Moorgate Place, London on 13th December. The event will include a Lifetime Wealth Planning Guide case study workshop and a networking drinks reception hosted by Octopus Investments.
Support
Commenting on business owners and managers being in need of financial planning advice from a trusted source as they prepare for retirement, ICAEW Head of Personal Finance Planning John Gaskell said: “Who better than the individual they have trusted to guide their business through the years? We believe that more chartered accountants should broaden their horizons to factor this personal finance market into their remit, as they are best placed to provide the support that is required for owner/managers to achieve their personal financial goals.”
